How to take the lead in conversation When someone speaks, it doesn't always listen to me. Especially when the story I am talking about is boring or uninteresting, the opponent loses attention and tries to turn the topic into his own story. You have to tell the story by associating new facts, interesting things, and especially things related to the person you don't know. As soon as the initiative of the conversation is passed on to the other person, you are automatically changed from active to passive. Having the initiative in conversation doesn't always mean that you're talking unilaterally. It means that the conversation proceeds with the topic (story) that you have suggested. Even if you speak less, the topic provider takes the initiative.
